This hand, Bd 4, from the Saturday afternoon Common Game, has me wondering how aggressive you care to be.
You find yourself in a heart game and favored with the lead of the ♠8. Reading this, hopefully, as third best you are rewarded when the ♠9 holds T1.
We will suppose that you are in the second final a NABC+ pairs game. It's early in the session and you are in contention. At tricks 2 & 3 you shed diamonds on the top clubs.
What is the best continuation and is your goal 11, 12, or 13 tricks? Is there a way of guaranteeing 12 without risking making only 11.
