The Swedish teams final is played this weekend. This hand came up. 3NT showed a Namyats in any major, and East doubled to show some cards, maybe a T/O of one major. You play 4 and West leads 5 (1-3-5). East wins the ace and leads back the 8. Finess, or do you have any more strings to your guitar?

Mikael Rimstedt spotted another chance than the finess.  He won the king and ruffed a diamond, but no queen appeared. 

Then trumps...When the last trump came East was caught in a winkle.

Yes, the finesse in diamonds was probably safe, but just in case East would have something like KJxx x AT98 A9xx from start, this looked better. (Yes, he had to read the cards at the end, but good declarers normally do.)
