I recently acquired a stack of older bridge books. One of them is The Devyn Book of Bridge Puzzles #3 By Alfred Sheinwold, published 1963. On page 8 he tells of a hand played by lawyer Burt Marks; and mentions of him "who proved to the California Supreme Court that bridge is a game of skill."
