A Puzzle

I ran into this approximate hand recently:

West
KJ1092
Q98
Q107
J9
North
53
KJ
AK82
K7543
East
876
10632
J9543
Q
South
AQ4
A754
6
A10862
D

My partner and I avoided clubs to play in 6N after West overcalled 1. West led the 9, and I managed to go down. I have two questions:

1. Should I have made it against perfect defense?

2. If not, what minimum value switch of cards between any two hands would have been sufficient.

In evaluating a card switch the following rules apply:

The value starts with the difference in rank between the cards. So switching a 5 for an 8 is worth 3 points.

If the switch is between opponents, it costs double.

If the switch involves a face card, it costs double.

If the switch involves an Ace it costs triple (but an honor for an ace only costs triple).
