A Rueful Rabbit Deal from the Roth

Here are a couple of double-dummy problems, one an actual deal from the Roth in Vegas and the other a slight modification.  I was West and had the dubious pleasure of declaring 4X on the actual deal.

These are not really good double-dummy problems, since a lot of transpositions are possible, but if you solve them both successfully you will see that the main idea for either problem does not work for the other.  And of course, I made what I think is the "right" single dummy play, and it was wrong on the actual layout.

I heard of a pair that collected 1100 against 4X on this deal.  And my teammates beat 6 a trick.

When dummy hit, I had visions of a deal from the Menagerie where both sides can make 4.  That helped shorten my trick 1 huddle by several minutes.  After the deal, my RHO congratulated me on how well I played the hand.  My reply was, "I could have made it, but thanks anyway."
