A Semi-Positional Squeeze
(Page of 2)

For a long time, I've known about positional squeezes such as*

North
AJ
K
South
2
2
A

where only West can be squeezed if he holds both the KQ and the A. And this turns into a nonpositional squeeze if you interchange the hearts

North
AJ
2
South
2
K
A

Now either player is squeezed if they hold all three key honors.

*Note: in all diagrams, assume that honors not seen in the diagram remain unplayed in the defenders' hands.

Recently, I played a hand with an end position that combined elements of both:

North
AJ
K2
South
2
J
AK

West is squeezed if he holds KQ and A; East can be squeezed as well, but only if he holds all three of those cards plus the Q, as that card allows declarer's J to become a threat.
