Aside: the 9 lead is for Peg.

Your methods over 1NT are:

  • 2 = Stayman (asks for 4-or-5-card major)
  • 2/3/4 = hearts; 2/3/4 = spades
  • 2N = clubs; 3 = diamonds
  • 2 = minor suit stayman.

The minor suit Stayman 2 option asks for a four-card minor and can be weak or game-forcing.

You (no longer) have a splinter-showing response to 1NT (you used to play 3, 3 and 3 as splinters, alas).

Obviously Partner did nothing wrong, so assess the blame:

100% your judgment
more your judgment than methods
50-50 your judgment and methods
more methods than your judgment
100% methods: this is unplayable
No blame
Something Yuan's missed. Obviously ...
