BBO Director call (which did not happen)
(Page of 2)

I would have preferred to asked this question to someone at BBO but they don't seem very good at explaining anything (among other things, their online help is absolutely horrible). This hand came up.

West had been consistently slow all through the round. This was the last board and we only had three minutes left. He took a long time to bid 2NT (a bid I find obvious). With one minute to play, the opening lead was a small heart. He took a long time to play from dummy and then finally played the Ace over the ten and then hesitated again. Then the round was over. He never played another card.

The director changed the result to 3NT +2. Well from this position, that is indeed the double-dummy result. Cash the AKQ of diamonds and then lead a spade to the 10. Single dummy, it's not so simple. He well might have decided to try and establish the clubs by playing the AK from the top. After that, he even might go down if he misguesses the spades  next. Fortunately we won the event anyway despite this board. But I never could find a way to object to the decision. Can anyone tell me how to do that?
