Break in tempo !?

Hi All.  The weekend of 8-10 may, a teams tournament run by the Faeroe Bridge Federation was held on BBO.  20 teams from Faroe Islands, Denmark and Iceland had a 3 day teams tournament.   See here...  https://bridge.fo/news/91/gold-and-winners-dangerous-minds-dk-read-more

It was surprisingly few TD calls, but here is the most interesting.

Opening lead = 7.  Table result = 4.  9 tricks

I got e-mail from E/W about bidding.  E/W said that there was a BIT by north which made it easier for South to lead diamond instead of something else.

Well  Was there a BIT?  We know there is often not so good internet connection, which can make a false BIT.  I did call North (by phone) and asked him if there was a BIT.  He confirmed that it was.  He was thinking of bidding 5 over 4.

I called a TD and asked him about this, and he said that a choice of opening lead would be between spades and diamonds.

From those information I ruled there was Unauthorized Information.  The BIT and then Pass by North suggested that North was thinking about bidding something else than his Pass.  What was it?  well  it is most probably double or 5

I did a mistake, not calling South (by phone ) and ask him about his point of view.  ( which I later apologized to him )

So what is the ruling?   Weighted score?   Well in my early days as TD,  I was told that players are not allowed to use UI sometimes and sometimes not.

So my ruling was.  The BIT by North made it easier for south for opening lead of Diamond.  Score adjusted to 4.  10 tricks.
