Analysis by Lynn Berg

Two-suited hands aren't ideal for 2 openers, especially when one of the suits is diamonds. 1 will be the more common choice, and North may well pass. Indeed, it may pass out often. How does one use the dummy's assets? To ruff diamonds? To take the spade finesse? Try the ruff and you'll be over-trumped, though.
