Analysis by Craig Hemphill

Although East thoughtfully paved the way for West to cooperate at the five level, and despite West's generally poor hand and partial club "fit," it is unlikely that West will take the save because of the four spades and the K, precious little, but SOME defense, and one might well be afraid of the five level with zero working HCP on offense.

4 making four ought to be routine, but South might not be as imaginative as our view, and might not bid 4. But really -- a singleton heart and partner having bid voluntarily?

Suppose West meekly passes (hardly ever a good idea, holding a fit) -- North jumps to 2 and then just try to hold South back! And East has no ideas that West has a semblance of a fit. Bid West, bid!
