I have amended this hand from one discussed in another post.

In an IMP event, partner leads the 2 playing attitude and declarer plays low from dummy.  Which diamond do you play and why?  If it helps, assume that you are playing Smith (not that I would be seen dead playing it).

I play the 9: declarer could have AJ and/or I don't want the Q to be an entry to dummy.
All the books say third hand high so I'd better play the K.
We play count signals so I'm playing the 5.
