Unlike the rest of his teammates, Dan never managed to live in the Murray Hill Brownstone in New York. Dan grew up in Chicago, IL where he learned bridge from his grandparents who taught him a strong club system and strong two-bids. He continued to play at the University of Iowa and was an active junior bridge player, winning the WBF Youth Award in 1997. Dan took about a 10-year hiatus from serious bridge to trade commodities. He returned to the game in 2008 and catapulted to the top 3 years later.
Dan is a proud father of 2 young boys, and in his spare time he also enjoys strategic games, working out, a good beer, great food, live music, and spending time with his family.
