One pair at my local club play a 2♣ opening as various strong hands or a weak 2 in ♦. if I recall, the strong hands are 8 playing tricks in any suit or 19-20 balanced. So base your answers on this if it makes a difference.
What is a good - but easy to remember- defense to this sort of thing? Obviously we could treat it as a weak 2 in ♦, and just assign a new meaning to an immediate 2♦ overcall. But I'm sure there's something better than that - especially as we have the option to pass and await developments.
