Team match. NS are playing strange convention: opening bid 3NT is exactly 7 cards in one minor and 4 cards in one major. I guess this is legal because brown stickers are defined as bids in range from 2 to 3. Anyway 3NT is properly alerted and explained, 4 is natural, 4 is pass/correct for openers major and 5 is optimistic. S doubled and led A, declarer quickly played small  from dummy and N hesitated for 2 or 3 minutes and finally played 2. S can see 8 's and 8 's between S and W but he cannot know does N have 4 's and singleton  or 4 's and singleton . He can play A at trick 2 and score +500 or spade for -750 (declarer would discard K on K and later guess  correctly). Argument for A is it cannot be wrong even if N's shape is 1-4-1-7. Players are allowed to think at trick 1, declarer did play quickly, but we all know that no player would take 2-3 minutes to play his singleton, so switch looks unethical. I would like to here your opinions about this. Btw other table played 4 S -1 so there was lot of IMPs at stake.
