Fahrenheit 4.51
(Page of 3)

Some suits are Ice 9, and some are only around half - 4.51.

And then there are variations in the freezing and thawing.

Holding the 8 in your suit is supposed to be a consideration whether you lead top or 4th best.

So I lead the J.

That's a bad place for the 9.

Things would be nice for declarer if he puts up the Q and it holds.

Declarer could have frozen hearts for us or thawed a second heart trick for himself by ducking, but he played the queen.

He can do the same thing again by taking the king with the ace, but he ducked. Things aren't going well for him.

I took the ten and returned the 8, hoping that partner could thaw the spades from her side.

Declarer gave off a sly look when he played a diamond to the ten (and partner's queen).

Partner played the T, convincing declarer I had the queen.

She got 3 diamonds and a club.

I mentioned to partner that she could have played  spades, but maybe we wouldn't thaw out 7 tricks.
