Join Bridge Winners
Following Brian Platnick's post on claims

You are in contention in a tough event.  You are defending, and dummy has a long suit that is being run.  Everyone is out of the suit but dummy.  There are no entries to dummy.  With one card left to cash in that suit, declarer calls for a small card in another suit; in other word stranding the established winner that he will not be able to cash later on.

Please don't comment that this happened to you blah blah blah, it has happened to all of us.  I am just trying to guage the BW population towards this type of situation.  I am interested in the breakdown of what people consider the 'right' action.

Do you:

play a card in tempo. (in other word assuming that declarer knows what he is doing)
Pause to give declarer time to change his call.
