For a change, not a cheating video. This may be the first aerial video of an indoors bridge championship?

The tournament is the "2015 Greek Inter-club Championship".

Due to increase of participation during the last years it is becoming more and more difficult to find a venue to host the games, so for the last 4 years we use the fencing venue that was built for the 2004 Olympic Games.

This year we had about 190 teams and over 900 participants, an all time record.

As a member of the organizing committee, I am proud to present the aerial video of the playing area:

Besides this, I would like to offer some financial information and share a question.

The participation fee is about $100 for each team. With the collected money, the Greek Federation pays all the expenses (venue, directors, equipment etc.) and makes also a profit.

I am wondering, why WBF and EBL charge $1000 to $1500 per team for participating in the Transnationals or the European Open Championships. I have played in such events and I can assure you that they certainly don't  offer 10 times more value to the participants.

Do you also find these participation fees absurd?

Do you think that something has to be done?
