Geir Helgemo reaches front page of reddit

For the first time in my experience, bridge reached the front page of reddit. Unfortunately, for quite an embarrassing reason. A Guardian article reporting Helgemo's failed PED test was posted on r/nottheonion, a subreddit created for "true stories that are so mind-blowingly ridiculous, that you could have sworn it was an Onion story".

For those unfamiliar with reddit, it is the 3rd most visited site in the U.S., and 6th worldwide. It's based on content aggregation, rating, and discussion, meaning that people post content to specialized pages (called subreddits), upvote and downvote to indicate popularity, and, well, discuss. As of my writing this, the Helgemo story has 23,000 upvotes and well over 1,000 comments. Many of these comments echo what the Bridgewinners community had to say on the topic, but I encourage you to read for yourself to see what else non-bridge players are saying.
