History/Literature Question

I have come across an article in Bridge Today, Nov/Dec 1995, authored by Joseph Kivel and entitled "The x-y-z Convention. Replacing Fourth-Suit and New-Minor Forcing." For any who are also interested in bridge literature and the history of bidding structures: Is this the first exposition of XYZ? (Note: The author gives credit to Kit Woolsey and an unidentified 'Danish pair' for articles dealing with 2-Way NMF after 1x-1y/1NT.)
