Join Bridge Winners
J2N au naturel
(Page of 2)

My partner Jon Wright and I have been playing together, off and on, since 1961. That's not a typo. However, as we get older, our memory has started to go. In particular, we have fumbled artificial continuations of rarely-used conventions, such as Jacoby 2N. To ease the burden on our memory, Jon asked if we might devise a kinder, gentler version of the responses and rebids that would maximize the use of natural bids by opener. We made a start on this project last spring, but now I have completed a version that I think is worth sharing with the other, similarly challenged, players here on bridgewinners.

Please let us know what you think about it.

4 - 7222                                                          4 - 6=5=1=1

I would also recommend that responder be allowed to skip the relay in order to cue the only side suit in which he has controls, or to bid 3N to deny a side ace when he holds good trump.
