GERMANY continued to suffer in the third match of the day, losing 49-0 toITALY, and slipping out of qualifying position. MONACO won againstCHINESE TAIPEI, creeping closer to the top eight. BRAZIL, FRANCE, andSWEDEN played very close matches:BRAZILandFRANCE won by 3, andSWEDEN lost by 1.AUSTRALIA,BULGARIA, andTHE NETHERLANDS won more comfortably.
