Matchpoint Strategy in a Strong Field

In preparation for San Francisco, I’ve been rereading “Matchpoints” by Kit Woolsey. In the introduction, he states that “..in an unusually strong field, such as the finals of the Blue Ribbon Pairs, some of the ideas may need modification..” He never discusses what modifications might be appropriate in a strong field, and my searches have not turned up any discussion of this at all. Any ideas out there on how one might approach matchpoint strategy in a strong field? Mr. Woolsey?

I should mention that I expect my card play to be at least one notch below the field in the finals of the Blue Ribbon Pairs.

Thanks all.
