Mid-Chart Changes

Last winter, the ACBL Mid-Chart was amended to allow, among other things:

  • A weak 2D or 2H opening bid showing at least 5-4 in the majors, if the five-card suit is known.
  • A weak 2H bid showing 5-5 (or more) in hearts and any other suit.
  • A weak 2S bid showing 5-5 (or more) in spades and a minor.
  • A weak 2D or 2H opening bid showing at least 5-4 in the majors, if the five-card suit is unknown in events where the each round or segment is at least six-boards long.

Why has the defense database not been updated to reflect these changes?  It's annoying to be "allowed" to play methods for which there are no legal defenses.  I really don't understand what the holdup is.  Maybe the same folks who publish changes to the convention charts should also manage and update the defense database.
