opening two suited hands ,Here I consider only hands with opening value and no upper limit, not preempts,
In a previous post I showed how to bid forcing-G two suited Maj + Maj after a 2C opening preventing most overcalls.
with others types ( minor + minor or Major + minor ) an overcall can make very difficult to bid the second suit if a reverse is not possible.
conclusion: show these hands right from the start, namely, : the opening,......... so:
-2♦ opening = a 5 Major + 5 minor hand (or 6.5) with 7 losers or less , forcing Responses are :
R 2 ♥, = p o c = could be only 2cards Mj [e.g 2=,2 (5.4) ] =weak - 3C = p o c = e.g 2.1 (5.5) = weak - R,4 ♥, (6 losers) = p o c = sign-off -R- 5C = p o c = sign-off
reponses without upper limit :
1) with fit in a minor - R,3♥, = show your minor suit
2) - with fit in a Major : R-3 ♦, = show your Major suit
3) -R-2NT with a regular hand (e.g 3. 3.3.4 ) 7 losers or less FG in any suit or NTopener rebid ( adapted from wilcosz) :
O’ - 3C = clubs + a Major ---R’-3 ♦,= ask whitch , -3 ♦,= diamonds +hearts ( all red ) -3 ♠, = spades + diamonds (mnemo = speedy )
-2NT opening = 2 suited hand in the tow minors 6 losers or less , 5.5 or 6.5 if longer ♦, no upper limit
-R - 3.4.5 of a minor= natural limited
-R--3♥ = Forcing ask ( what you want shortness? Controls?) no upper limit
it is analog to the 2 NT overcall (O-1C--R-1♦,- opener rebid-2NT = 20.21hcp(cf klukowski)
