Many questions here.

I. North's double.  Pick 1 from Answers 1-3.  Even if you think N should pass, please go on, giving whatever you would ascribe to North's double.

II. East's pass. Pick 1 from Answers 4-6

III. South's 1NT. Pick 1 from Answers 7-9

IV. North's pass on the 2nd round.  N-S have recently discovered equal level conversion doubles and have agreed to play them with an offshape hand with both majors or with spades and diamonds.

Even though converting 1N to 2-something is not "equal", since N was willing to correct a 2 bid to 2 would it be ok for North to do so here?  Or should N bid 2 (I think that would show a strong hand).  Pick 1 from Answers 10-12

V. East's competitive 2 bid.  Pick 1 from Answers 13-14

VI. South's final contract, 2NT. Pick 1 from Answers 15-16

VII. Finally back to ELC doubles.  Does this require that the lower-ranked of the two 'equal' suits has to be at least as long if not longer than the higher-ranekd of the two suits?

IV and VII are the ones I'm most interested in learning more about, so pleaee don't hold back on the comments

Please select up to 7 choices.

I A.. North is too weak for a vulnerable double and lacks the suit quality for a 1 overcall. North should pass.
I B. N should overcall 1
I C. I agree with North's double.
II A. East should have bid 1 over the double
II B. East should bid 2 over the double
II C. I agree with East's pass
III A. South should have bid 2
III B. I agree with South's 1N bid.
III C. South should bid...(pass, something else?) in comments please.
IV A. I agree with North's pass
IV B. North should correct to 2H.
IV C. North should correct to 2S.
V A. East should pass (or bid something else...?)
V B. I agree with East's bid
VI A. South should pass
VI B. I agree with South's bid
VII. For an ELC double the lower-ranking suit must be longer or equal length to the higher-ranking suit.
