Properly explaining a transfer accept

In the Tuesday evening matchpoint game at the local club, the following auction occurs:

W
N
E
S
1
P
1NT
P
2
X
P
?

You clearly alert the artificial Swedish club opening, the 1NT transfer to hearts, and the 2 transfer accept. RHO doubles 2 without asking for an explanation; it is clear that she intends the double as takeout. When LHO's turn comes, he asks only about 2. You explain:

"10-12, balanced, could be 2-5 hearts"

Is the explanation sufficient, from a legal and ethical perspective? Would it have been better to explain it, e.g., as a transfer accept, which it was?

Of course, LHO and RHO should have asked about the full auction before making a call. That's what created this conundrum, but it's not the main focus of this post.
