Reverse Lebensohl (or Italian Lebensohl), any ideas?

I believe doubling than cue-bidding 2 is the standard approach for this type of hand.

After discussing this hand with an expert partner of mine, I learnt that there was an Italian approach named something like "Reverse Lebensohl", which allows you to differentiate hand types beginning at 1 level. In the heat of the match we could not discuss in detail but what I remember is like this:

RHO opens 1MAJ, you double, LHO passes. Now 1NT by partner shows 8+, 1(if RHO opened 1) or 2X shows weaker hand with 4+.After partner's 1NT, 2 and 2 shows hands with 4 of other major, min/max etc.

I searched BridgeWinners about this approach but could not find any information. I think it would be useful and interesting if somebody would share his/her ideas about it.
