The cost of a bridge game

Perusal of an article elsewhere on this site got me thinking about the cost of playing duplicate bridge.  It varies widely in England:

My local club (Sidmouth; not affiliated to the EBU) charges £2 per session for members, £3 for visitors, annual subscription £10.  The nearby club at Honiton (EBU affiliated) is even cheaper, £1.50 and £2.00 respectively, though the subscription is a little higher at £12.  The nearest large club (Exeter; EBU affiliated) charges £2.50 and £3.50 respectively though the subscription is £20.

At the other end of the scale, the Young Chelsea Club in London charges £10 and £14 with a high annual subscription of £60.

All of the clubs that I have mentioned are owned by their members.  Apart from the Young Chelsea, they meet in rented premises (Sidmouth and Honiton at sport clubs; Exeter at a hotel).

How much do people play to pay bridge in other countries and is this level of variation between high and low typical?
