(Page of 5)

I was dummy and thoroughly enjoyed the play on this hand. This was online so I got to see declarer's hand too.

N/S play 5 card majors with a 12-14 NT.

Things didn't look too promising after West led the 9.

Things looked a lot less promising when my wife decided it was a good idea to duck the first club....

..and was desperately looking for a plan B when West continued with 6.  East so far has contributed 53.

The T was run to West's J, and they switched to the 2, East contributed the 8 and declarer won with the 10!

Declarer now cashed A and the Q was allowed to hold.  West played the 3 and 9; East the 4 and 6.

Drat, the defender's seem to know what they are doing.

Time for desperate measures so declarer cashed the A and then led the Q which West overtook; East showing out playing 8 and 9.

West cashed his K (7, 10, 7) before exiting with the 7....

....East played the J and declarer made her second heart trick having started with K10 opposite 4 small.
