Named after my friend and compatriot David Liu who once found himself in a 6♠ contract, trivially making except on a 5-0 trump split. On the inevitable 5-0 split, his opponent has to underruff along the way. Otherwise (s)he ruffs its partner's trick at trick 11 and has to lead into Dave's tenace.
Playing in a club pair with a new partner, the bidding gets a little out of hand. A lot out of hand. Here I am 4♠. They start with two heart trick north pitching an odd/even 4♣. Then a trump to the 9-Queen. I play club to the king winning. A♠ learning about the trump break. On the J♥ next north pitches another club not best while I ruff it. Play off four rounds of diamonds. On the club next, north has to ruff her partner's ace and then lead into my ♠K10.
What do all y'all think of me posting hands in its natural environment errors and all? Should I take it to the intermediate folder? The defensive error is in spirit with the original Liu coup which needed a defensive error as well.
