This hand is perfect example of why I rarely do well against weak opponents at club games. After a misdefense and an unseen call give us a top and a near-top, this is the third board:
The queen of diamonds runs around to my king, East playing the two. A small heart to the queen wins. A small heart to the king wins. Both defenders have played in perfect tempo.
What should I be thinking here? Did one of them have the ace of hearts hidden behind another card? Did they both duck smoothly holding three hearts? Did LHO duck twice with ♥A1085?
If anyone has advice about winning in a weak matchpoint field, I'd appreciate it. Much too often, playing sound bridge gets me 50%.
