Yesterday I posted a poll asking what to do with the West hand in this diagram.  I was sitting N. West at our table was the only one in the room to enter the auction. The vast majority of voters chose PASS. Every other table played 1N, making 1 or 2.  The rest of the story: I chose to compete to 2N, not willing to sell out and banking on partner to have a heart stopper.  I got that part right, but the play was tricky and we went 1 down for a 0. The play:  low heart to the A, J to the Q and K, and a third heart won in S. Four rounds of diamonds and then ...? Is it clear how to proceed?  SHOULD the hand make 2? Should I have passed/X'd?

Constructive comments welcome.

Good bid, unlucky result
