What directors might not know

A perfectly ordinary hand really.  Your partner opens 1NT and next hands thinks and passes,  You pass and LHO bids 2 for the majors.  Your partner calls the director to reserve rights.  The auction proceeds and RHO bids 2 and makes 11 tricks.  LHO has a 10 count with 55 majors so is there a problem?  We have an excellent score.  Most of the field were in game.

My partner calls the director back and I am a bit baffled.  The director looks at the hand and says in his view everybody would call on his hand,  My partner says he agrees.  The director says then why bother to call me back.  My partner says now look at the other hand.  He looks and the guy has a 4-2-3-4 13 count.

The director does not get the point.  ! assume you do.

My question is what should the director do?

Been asked for hand and was something like this
