What is the meaning of 5NT in the following bidding sequence, and why? Please note that, in the partnership, a 4♦ bid over 4♣ would be interpreted by responder as being a "cue bid".
I was going to present this as a multiple choice poll but was concerned that I might omit some peoples' choices (resulting in unexplained "other" responses). So I ask for written answers along, if possible, with explanations. I am interested in both how you interpret 5NT is as well as why? This bid did generate a bit of discussion at the table (euphemism for disagreement).
Look forward to your responses and thanks in advance.
