You are E playing with your A partner in a club game (MPs) when this hand comes along. For right or wrong reasons you choose to lead your lowest . Declarer wins the Q, with partner playing the 2. Declarer then leads 2 to partner's 8, her J and your A:

Trick1: 5 - Q - 2 - 7

Trick2: 2 - 8 - J - A

Your defensive agreements are:

Leads: low from doubleton against suit contracts (Jx and lower, from Ax,Kx,or Qx we lead the honor, prealerted), 4th/2nd leads otherwise. Low lead indicates a doubleton or an honor.

Carding: UDCA, standard suit preference in trumps or when applies otherwise.

So, what was partners signal on trick 1?

Constructive comments or links to other similar problems are highly appreciated.

:)Yu

Attitude (partner may hold up the A)
Count (partner does not have theA)
Other (because there is always something I am missing :)) - please comment
