When they X our 2 transfer to

You are playing 4 way transfer. The bidding goes

1N - (P) - 2 - (X)

2 was strictly a transfer, not asking for min-max NT. Without the X, you play "gap denies", so 2NT would be negative and 3 positive, however you define those. What would be the best way to deal with the X? Let's restrict to P, XX, 2N, 3. XX presumably means they walked into opener's suit. For Jacoby, you play after P, XX would complete the transfer, so presumably that applies here too. How should we play 2NT and 3? Whatever they mean, that should determine what P means.

Same as w/o the X. Neither 2N nor 3 promise stopper.
2N = negative with stopper, 3 = positive with or w/o stopper
2N = negative with stopper, 3 = positive with stopper
2N = negative or positive with stopper, 3 = positive w/o stopper
2N = positive with stopper, 3 = positive w/o stopper
