Being in England we can paly the multi and I enjoy using it. I was wondering does the defence change if opponents are playing a weak only version?

Thanks I checked with Brian and I am now in possession of the book. Thoroughly enjoying reading it and thinking about it, need to find a partner with a similar aptitude to try some of the things suggested.

Thank you for the feedback, most interesting. I can see advantages in both. I will discuss with partner and see which way to try.

Paul Mendelson or Andrew Robson are the most current British authors I'm aware of. Mendelson's Control the Bidding: The Right Way to Secure the Battleground in Bridge is excellent as is his follow up book Thinking About Bridge: A thought-based approach to declarer play, defence and bidding judgement. Robson's The Next Level is also good. Not sure they go into the detail you are looking for.

I'm looking to moving from ACOL to 5 card majors, sounds a fascinating book, does being young at heart count? Guess I'll have to wait until publisher is back from holiday to find out more.
