A good example for you–Klinger's Power System was illegal short of the Superchart.

Playing Precision, 3H should be a control asking bid in hearts. Assuming 3NT=2nd round control, 7S makes sense.

I'd have to speak to my partner, but I think we could possibly do a couple of evenings. Do you have any problems playing against weird systems (MICS–canape with a Precision base)?

I'm shocked at how heavy the vote was to open this.

As I understand the rules, how can this hand do ANYTHING ethically but bid 4S?

You have a situation where it is likely one player is psyching. As I understand the rules, you may only make a grandstand catch of pd's psych by bridge logic. Doing anything–Pass or 3S–is trying to make a grandstand catch of a psych that you cannot by bridge logic.

If someone is allowed to play pd to be the one psyching here on this hand, there's something wrong with the rules.

I'll beat on it until the Board of Directors gets it's head out of its a** on this issue. It's ridiculous that you cannot play Multi in a Flight A pair event.

If the ACBL BoD didn't have it's head up it's a** somewhere in the 1940's, it would be.

This should ABSOLUTELY have been done. The ACBL's refusal to come into the modern world is one of the many things choking the game we love.

How the hell do you do this to people on this short notice?

**** the ACBL.

Many, many moons ago I was playing in a club game, and one opponent got back to the table a couple of minutes after the round started. My partner jokingly said “We played them for you already. All three boards, in 7NT making.”

I think you might know the nest sentence… :)

No, Peg, but attitudes like yours–which I'm shocked to see from a player of your ability and experience–surely will kill the game.

If you think looking at hands yet to be played is a “less serious” form of cheating, I don't think I'd want to play in any game you run, sorry.

There is a difference between “doing something wrong” and cheating.

When I say level I mean level of EVENT, from a club game to the NABC's.

ANY ACBL-sanctioned event.

The average age is 72. There's no point to having Senior events that exclude a small percentage of the membership. If the age limit were say 65+, or even 70+, that would make a bit more sense.

Lack of events to play in? Low table counts at side events during senior tournaments, WHEN they're even made available?

That's funny, because I was just about to type that I was amazed at how many 2S bids there were :)

Once every two weeks. Unfortunately, neither my wife or I drive, and we've moved to Mesa, AZ, about 20+ miles from each of the two big bridge clubs in the area.
