m= 8 or 9
H= Q or J
mm vs Hmm where on the 2nd round if lho is holding Hmm hes got a restricted choice.

2-m-T-H
K-x-x-? in this spot if lho got Hm left he can play either.
So in the end its

mm vs Hmm/2 so 3-3 is slightly better. However if lho is falsecardign too much (play 9Q8/8J9 too often) than finessing is now better. I think junior at high level are highly likely to falsecard too much.

I think if lho play H from Hm or from Hmm at t1 is irrelevant but im not sure. These are much harder falsecard to find.

Jeff your point look symmetrical. Your method give up on playing 4 so you should compared it to a method that do the same.

With a 5-1-2-5 its normal to bid 4D ask for the major if overcaller bid 4H you retreat to 5. So in both of these method you dont miss a 5-5 fit.

Thats why maybe its better to do pairing like

1vs 5,6,7,8
2vs 6,7,8,5
3vs 7,8,5,6
4 vs ,8,5,6,7

so that after 4 round you have 2 isolated groups
1 to 4 and 5-8.

ex team 8 forfeit so 5,6 & 7 can do 2ways. If team 3 forfeit 1,2&4 can do 3-way

Its not only about the scores adjustement its also can you find a movement to avoid 7 boards sitout.

For example. “B” the forfeited team should have played against ACD in the last 3 matchs. So EFGH got 3 matchs to play while ACD got only 2 matchs left. If ACD also need to play together you can maybe make them 2X10 (2x11) boards threeway.

Bidding theory just tell us that 4D should be used for the knowned 2 suiter and 4C should be a group of two 2-suiters.

The gain of using 4-4 more often depend on the meaning that you apply for it.

I like 4D as asking for the M and 4M to play but its far from clear to me that its the best use.

I have always played my leaping michael as 100% GF but many players seem to play them limited so I guess there is some values in making them and being able to bail out in 4m.

You usually have enough bids for slammish with a minor fit however it worth a fair amount of imps to have a (mild ?) slam try for under 4.

Sometimes it allow you to rightside the minor contracts and if you play 4D as NF than your able to stop there.

We are also playing (3m)-4C as M+om and (3m)-4D as both majors, m+unknown Major need more bidding space than a bid with 2 known suit so the switch is already normal for us.

If advancer is a passed hand we obviously dont need 4M to play so 4M should be P/C.

lol if you think you need to establish spades to make 7.

1363
2S+1H+6D+3C+ one ruff

1255
you need to setup or have the J of clubs

1264
depend on the layout of the hand but ruffing a is very promising.

Bidding 2C with a GF hand is one of the first trick ive learned playing double barrel stayman.

You know that your raising to 4M or 3NT (or cuebid opps suit) so it cost nothing to induce a light double or a light overcall.

When you have a void and don't show it brillancy might not be enough its likely you will need luck too.

“maximum for 1NT at least 3♣”

Unless you courageous enough to XX with only 2.

playing that style 3 can be a courtesy raise and 2Nt can become an impossible raise unfortunatly these auction are kind of rare so its dangerous agreements.

Does it make more sense to play 3 as a 11pts max raise and XX as courtesy raise ?

If you X with 5m+4M you will still dont know what major you have so I don't see how am I losing.

3451 vs (43)24.
In both methods if advancer choose to play in the M he can be in a 4-3 fit instead of a 5-2 or 6-2. If he play in the minor he could miss a 4-4 M fit.

Give an example with shape of the hands it will be simpler.

I was opener on this hand and Eric was my partner, that's why I know opener is in 4th seat and 2 is Drury.
