Thanks Ken. Definitely Not a frayed wire, duct tape to guard against people tripping over the loose cord. And to the Directors’ credit, duct tape always put down BEFORE anyone fell

I cannot comment on the ADA or ACBL written Regulations. But I can spaeak with authority on the absolutely exemplary manner in which every Director without exception has treated me since I became disabled. In 2013, following a severe COPD attack I needed 24/7 oxygen and a walker. An Internal Medicine specialist reminded me I was terminal. Since that time, I have attended some 30 tournaments, Nationals , Regionals, , Canadian National championships and numerous Sectionals. For optimum POC use, we need not just a stationary but one near an electrical outlet to conserve battery life. We go to the Directors early and ask. Never once have we been refused. Sometimes, over and above measures were required, duct tape for extension cord, a table out of its row, extra lighting, etc. In some cases, people who thought they had a N-S were asked to move and they never objected. Directors were always pleasant and often checked whether I was coming the next day so they could plan ahead. Some tournaments even made special parking arrangements. I always remember to thank the Director pool when I leave. Off to Niagara Falls, ON next week.

Jan: Thank you so much for the reply to my question. As an aside if I may, thank you for all the work you do in the Vugraph world. It all brings us great enjoyment.

Congratulations to Nafiz Zorlu and Nezih Kubac for their win in a major championship with a strong field of internationals. May I ask an uninformed question? The championship is European but there is a small representation of U.S. pairs. That I did not quite follow. Thank you.

Paul: Sorry, a bit late to be commenting on your AARP article, but thanks for pointing it out. I have a bit of a mobility problem, oxygen 24/7, walker, etc. But have had occasion to explain bridge tournaments to three medical specialists lately, neurologistm Internal Medicine and a respirologist and they all tell me the same thing, keep up the bridge tournaments. Thanks Bob B

Congratulations to Team Cayne but special sympathy to the members of Team Schwartz who won at the table and lost by one IMP in the back room. I thought the ACBL's much-heralded new policy was for Committees to side with the Director who was there at the table. Maybe that announcement was just to frighten us ordinary people out of appealing.

Danny: Congrats again, great win. By now I am sure you know their CSTC auction - Katie opening - was 1C-1D-1S-2H-3D-3H-3S-4NT-5C-5H-6C-7C - state of the match. Unlikely stiff Diamond defeats 7C but South understandably chose the HK

Congrats to Narasimham squad. Special thanks to Gary for all the work on BBO production. Condolences to those who allowed early release of hand records. That was a hard-fought close final and USBC presentation format of hand results so excellent. Very enjoyable on BBO. Any way to hand-enter the shuffled deals for posterity's sake? Many thanks anyway.
