When I arrived in Italy I found that poker is played with a 40 card deck, from the 5 to the ace. I am not a habitual player of poker but I thought it made the game more fun.

it is amazing to me how many contributors to BW have a cat as their avatar, all of them prettier than mine.

that is really funny, especially when players get up to go to the bathroom and come back so quickly you know they couldn't possibly have washed their hands.

If there is anyone on the bridge scene who could possibly come up with a way to avoid cheating in our wonderful game, that is certainly Fred. Thank you Fred for BBO and for all you and your colleagues do for us players.

thanks for explaining this rolf I had never heard of this system but I think I agree with Ed that if bridge players can find a way to screw up they will do so

Why should Alfredo Versace have to explain anything to the messenger? I hope he will just ignore the whole thing, he and his team mates are above this kind of dirty smearing.

I agree with Alfredo that the comment was very bad and agree that Bridge Winners was right to delete the post after that comment. Lauria/Versace is the best pair around, we all know this

The title of this thread is kind of misleading, I tend to agree with Avon but the Italian national anthem is so hard to sing that even most Italians can't get their tongues round it.

I agree with John that I won't like it if he lists the reasons why this happened (if he knows them all), because as others have said in this thread, this is not the place. I just wanted people to think about what is going on in other countries and why. Of course I would not try to justify the evil persons that did this awful thing.

It wasn't intended as a complaint, just trying to make people think about the reasons behind what has happened.

Of course everyone would share your feelings about what happened in Paris, but why did I never see here condolences to the Syrian bridge community and everyone in Syria for the terrible things that are happening there?
