Too bad partner has Axxx J QTxx Txxx and passes 2C. If, by chance, they bid FSF I guess you bid 3H and hope partner figures it out.

Partner had Gerber available if they wanted to know about aces.

We call this locally a Munro auction. x Jxxx x Axxxxxx would be typical.

Please send over the novice who picks up that inference. I've found that the vast majority of players, including me, miss a lot of inferential auctions.

3D shows a strong playing hand but maybe not a lot of defense. Double allows partner with 5 trumps or a good 4 card suit to pass for penalties an option not available over 4D. I would be a lot happier with double if I had the ace of diamonds. 4D is very likely to be doubled and I might bid it if we were non-vul.

I don't want to make a living doubling the opps in a nine card fit including 3 aces and around half the deck at the 2 level.

Maybe with QJ2 AJT AT982 62 I open 1C but 1N with the actual holding.

I would have doubled if partner wasn't a passed hand. Add the J of spades and I would double opposite a passed hand.

I can see passing or doubling but 4D makes no sense to me.

Bob Heitzman posted about using the double jump cuebid as a top & bottom style cuebid. This seemed to me to be a sensible use of the bid as doubling with a void in an unbid suit or overcalling with a 2 loser hand is a bit much for me.

I like 4D followed by 5C. Partner should nave a real good idea what I have.

The real Bridge World Death hand is the one with 6 diamonds. Here, especially if playing 2H as a WJS, I'm fine with a 3C rebid. Partner has room to bid 3D which is not available over 1D-1M-3D.

It's silly to restrict membership in this forum as the only people who will view it are those with an interest or questions about procedures. I'm currently the club manager but am giving it up at the end of the month. If there's a problem it lands in my lap whether or not I'm officially the club manager.
