Someone said 3 splinter and we do play that. Also, opening 2 is an option so I guess you can vote for 6 if you would have opened 2 weak.

2, 3, and 4 opening bids are all natural and preemptive.

Responding to 1 opening bid:
2 natural, non forcing
3 limit raise
3 forcing raise
4 Minorwood
3, 3 splinter

I was under the impression that invitational/open was at the club level, not on a per-game basis. Therefore illegal. I do not see an invitational option for club games in ACBLScore, but I could be missing something.

There might have been a system issue as David plays a lot of weak NT and the hand in question looks too good to open a 12-14 1NT.

There are several kinds of cheating devices. I would be surprised if no one had ever used one to cheat at bridge.

The flyer for the tournament says that top brackets in KOs may be handicapped.

I calculated my M-number (I never heard of this metric before today) by going to MyACBL, then to masterpoint history, and selecting “Gold” from the “Color” drop down box, then just picking high numbers out.

Someone mentioned blue ribbon Qs. One idea might be to recognize high numbers of those in a year on a unit/district level.

Some recognition for online players would be nice.

Lastly, keep in mind the demographic. ACBL needs to keep the 0-500 folks happy, and provide incentives for the low-ranked players to continue. More advanced players will play just for love of the game.

Right, Patrick and Esko's line is: A, A, heart to J.

A) if J wins, play a spade to K, then a spade and finesse the 9 unless LHO shows out, whereupon you play the A and a spade towards the J.

B) If J loses, play A then finesse the J unless the T appears from LHO, in which case you run the 9.

Our unit uses 0-750, 750-1500, and 1500+ for 1/2/3 points.

For number of members of the unit, we have about 1800 1-point players, about 350 2-point players, and about 400 3-point players.

The best 1-point players dominate this game, as you would expect.

Inb4 Nic says “Score+ already supports this file format”. :)

This is a step forward, the ACBLScore format is quite cryptic.
