But it isn't random hands in the simulation across the tables. It runs the same simulation since the random number generator starts with the same “seed.” This allows the exact same “pattern” across the tables if the bids, etc. are identical. Does this make sense? Sorry it has been years since I studied these things.

No screen shots necessary. Just go here and post links to the traveler.

If you remember when it happened last, can you try looking it up?

Best,
Daniel

Allan:

Can you pull up an hand history? BBO makes this easy. Just go to their hand record web page (not by logging into BBO, just on the website.) Do post links here.

There GIB Discussion board on the BBO forum is also excellent.

I'm sorry to be so definitive, but this topic has been discussed many times on those forums.

They DO NOT do this. Their leads are based on simulations with the same random number generator (and seed).

If you are playing “Instant Robot Tournaments,” ACBL or non-ACBL, you *will* see this behavior since your hand is being compared to hands from past play where an earlier version of GIB might have been used.

Of course a different auction might get you a different lead.

As long as I get more masterpoints as a side benefit from the surcharge. I know most clubs will then also welcome this immediately.

If it makes you feel better, I turned 40 last month. So there were 135 age 39 folks. :)

This is not entirely impossible. My other hobby is marathon running. There are for profit race companies that charge for a VIP pass which includes, among others, access to the better bathrooms (well no line porta-potties) at the start.

Rather than giving up on the 30-50 year old demographic, can technology by used to help recruit, maintain and grow this segment?

What could the UI be? There would have to be agreements like, “if I pull a card and change it, then I am underleading an ace.” That is explicit cheating and such actions should get a suspension.

Without interference my 2D promises an A or K and my 2H denies an A or K. I play additional transfer bids for strong suits.

With interference as others have said, Double now denies an A or K and Pass promises at least one A or K and establishes the same game force.

One way to watch two vugraph rooms using the web version is to open a second BBO session and log in as just looking. Or create a second account.

It is pretty easy and quite nice with two monitors.

But they theoretically could be a “big data operation” if they decided to store data. Which would lead to fascinating analysis on bidding and play.

I'm 100% sure this is not on their radar.

overall club table count is up by one half of one percent. Face to face club table count is down 3.1% with a total of 1,311,912 tables reported in play. Online table count through September totals 751,154, a 6.6% increase over the 704,528 online tables during the same time frame last year

Customers want to play more online. Solutions are pretty obvious to me. Of course their solution is to create separate lists for F2F play.

Why not just let clubs add 2x/sanction “SCREEN FUND GAMES” that pays 5x masterpoints? The extra $1 from 10,000's participants would generate the revenue quickly.

Joshua: Just for clarity, non-profits are allowed to make profits. It is what they do with the profits that matters.

The NFL is a non-profit, right? Some (I) would say they should lose this status, especially when Goodell clears $44M a year.
