What are other tactics?
Maybe this is why I do FAR better in Robodup IMPs than MPs. :)

Mario:
I did not mean to single you out. You are correct.

My point is there for us all to follow.

" games, despite the majority of players being very weak…"

The tone here is getting not respectful. Remember we were all new once, and some of us are very new, too.

We can agree to disagree, but let's all be nice.

Cook a man a fish and you feed him for a day. But teach a man to fish and you get rid of him for the whole weekend.

Robot Races are different games on BBO.

Jonathan:
There are many types of robot tournaments on BBO. There are also pairs tournaments where you can rent a robot to play as your partner. Except for the free tournaments, they all pay *BBO* Masterpoints.

However, there is ONLY ONE type of ROBOT tournament where you can earn ACBL Masterpoints. Additionally, you can earn/win ACBL Masterpoints in the pairs speedballs, but you will never play/with against GIB in these.

Could someone please tell me the status of the “1/3 rule?” I thought it was gone with the lowering of points awarded in on-line tourneys, but the 2011 document mentions it as did a pamphlet given to 299ers at the Las Vegas NABC. However, it is nowhere mentioned on ACBL.org.

Jonathan, with all due respect your comment:

“Playing under pressure at a F2F tournament is not the same as playing online while sitting on the can with your laptop…” Is misguided. I trust that it comes from the best of all intent.

Believe me, I get more nervous online when Leo, Gavin or Serge are my competition than I do with any competition in a 999er at the club.

Robot-Races award only “BBO Masterpoints.” Perhaps Joshua's fears are correct. Some might have heard that they award “Masterpoints” and took it to mean “ACBL Masterpoints.”

BBO Masterpoints get you a pretty number next to your name. For most people here, that doesn't matter since you would qualify to have an even prettier star next to your name.

You can't bring your BBO star with you when you go shopping in a real mall, or even at amazon.com

Top lists are usually silly. That is why David Letterman is often so funny.

What strategic adjustments to you make when you use the 30 pt VP scale?

Yes, of course there is heavy sarcasm. :)

However, it would just be easier to allow Multi, I guess. Then there would be no “guessing” by the defense.

Time for the ACBL to enter into the 21st century. Rather than having to carry a ream of paper (which won't be recycled), why not list all mid-chart defenses in a better format on ACBL.org and let people view them on their phones DURING the play?

Greg: Is it usually in the contract that the ACBL can not bring their own wireless hotspots? The Vugrpah Ops had many problems yesterday that could have been prevented with better technology.

Debbie's post makes me feel less bad about losing to Ben Kompa in the GNT district final match. We were even up after 12 boards and then his team crushed us in the final 12. They played like champs! GO D7!

Anyone else staying at the Riviera? It is cheap hotel, and old. But it is in front of the “hotel formerly known as the LVH.”

If it is just water vapor, why are they so popular? Obviously the nicotine and whatever else is in their is addictive. Since we don't know they should be banned everywhere cigarettes are.
