Only because some people present strange behaviours while concentrating /on bridge problems/, like fidgeting their hair or tapping and don't do that when not concentrated and nervous and immersed in their thoughts should imho not make them candidates for an accusation. I believe there must be some correlation between signals and the cards for proof.

Richard. Not sure if this argument holds water. Let's imagine a hypothetical pair XY who signals their holdings by shifting their weight on the chair /5 positions - 4 corners and one ‘neutral’ in the center/. Everybody shifts their body from time to time while sitting, not only when playing a card game.

Somebody who doesn't want to bid 3D or 3S, but why? Does he have 5 spades but the suit is not good and he doesn't want to bid them twice, maybe hoping to hear 3S from partner with Kxx and a weak club holding? I hope the author will post the hand soon, somehow I suspect that it was he who held the spade+diamond hand

Right… It would be hard for me to imagine partner inviting 6 NT with a void in my suit, same without a club honor. The club needs to be a singleton, if the spade finesse works we have a slam, that must be easy to bid because not bidding it means a bad result. What about ADWxx, K, AKDWxx, D then (the little spade still mixed up with the club)? So funny :)

There would be 2 spade, 3 heart and 6 diamond tricks
The hearts can be unblocked

Right, it's not likely, I “saw” there a 9x in Diamonds. Back to the problem :(

Interesting, most likely it will happen soon. I wonder if it is possible to create a game, where a computer could never be able to beat a top human player despite having the same information.:)

“The bonus of knowing how long things took (which a camera can do, or a computer/chess clock approach) isn't needed, but is helpful.”

Gene, but after Opatija: would there have been any disciplinary actions without having the camera recordings from there?

All well and good, but why is there no talk about having cameras at serious bridge events? There should be cameras at the tables and recordings posted for everybody to see.

Kurt, that seems reasonable to me. Never the less some steps were taken and some people might be wondering how that went, just for future's sake.

Tomasz. If so, one has to assume that the defence lawyers questioned the quality of the experts at the starting point of the proceedings and that a year or so was not enough for those experts to make sure they know what WJ is all about? Because if the topic was brought up just at the final meeting it might have been too late to dismiss on these grounds. But that would be known only if the transcripts were public.

As a person without any knowledge in legal matters I feel, that a decision should not be taken if its consequences lead to something absurd. Here if we decide, that only experts, that are also as an additional requirement world class experts of this particular bidding system of the accused are allowed to testify or aid in the investigation it would lead to a situation, where it is at all not possible to investigate a pair that has their own /or just played by very few or very mediocre players/ bidding system. Because in that case there is no possibility to have the right amount of qualified experts. This seems like nonsense to me :(

Chip, you should read the official PBU statement, where the chairman denies plans to conduct their own investigation into the BZ case. This statement is avaiable in another thread on BW.

No the sentence is as vague in Polish as it is in English.

I sure could translate at least some of it after work but my English is far far worse than Michal Rosas and I have no idea if someone isn't already working on it. If that's the case I would rather not waste my time to make another inferior quality version of the statement. I will check later on if there is some translation posted.

On the polish forum there also were some surprised comments that they were expecting a statement saying either “We are sorry” or “We are innocent” but there wasn't anything explicit in the statement.
