Was there any video taken of this match? If there was I would be grateful for the link.

2/1, Flannery and Gazzilli work very excellently together with some modifications.

Try visualizing turning the screen upside down and turning it 45 degrees. With some tweaks you can see the opps faces but not the other pads or your p.Then add some dark glasses. :) If you want to imagine what they are doing with their hands that's your risk.

Even cloth curtains on on light frame that you could pull or slide to talk to your p if need be.

Why not just have the bids posted to each pad as soon as they are made? Same as pencil on paper. No?

I would hate to see an Aussie team left out of such an event but I guess we would be. On the upside there would be plenty of great bridge to follow.

The ACBL might like to talk to the people who looked after the rating system in Australia - the Australian Bridge magazine. As far as I remember the rating system started when a sponsor put money into having one. Quite a number of clubs got into it and for a time, if not for all of the time, it was free. The top 100 players were published in Australian Bridge each quarter. Some congresses had a rating limit for intermediate events. The list has not appeared in the last few issues. Don't know why.

I treat these situations with humor so there is no snapping at anyone. It is just a habit she has from playing other card games. Btw she is practicing not to snap and she promises me that she will come back to my bridge lessons next round.

2/1, forcing nt, flannery and gazzilli all sit very well together in my experience. You just need to limit your flannery openings to around 15 hcp if 4531 and 17 hcp if 4522. For the stronger hands, open 1H and go through gazzilli. Not sure about the semi forcing nt though, have never played it.

Just wondering how long has it been since Italy missed out on playing a Bermuda Bowl?

Playing -suction- against precision players is fun but giving away distribution does become an issue against good declarers. On balance tho it's still fun.
