Interesting problem. Help me think this through? I'm don't like defending S3 with this Hand. No preempts by N and E so I'm guessing they don't have a good enough six card Heart suit? Say S has 8 HCP because of 3 level preempt Non Vul.? Then 15 HCP divided between N and E. I'll take my chances Pdr bids and we find 8+ card fit. N can still raise to 4.
Your thoughts?

Do not save. This is a Hand I might overthink and try to be clever. If partner shows a second suit Iike, I have to think some more.

I’ll e very interested to see E Hand. Since I have the Spade KQx, I expect E2S to shows having 6S. A decent S break 2/2 or 3/1 makes 7S in most cases. So why not 5N King ask? If 0 bid 7S. If 1 bid 7N.

3 as I’m stuck with the bidding as listed. I want to find out more and my other choice and 5N rules out investigating a possible grand slam. We can still stop at 6 or 6N.

I scratching my head. 2 was GF. Then 2 followed by 3, what? I rather not guess vote so I abstained.

All I know at this point is that partner has 4S and 6+ HCP. I did 2 to start Spiral so I find out more and communicate my strength. I’m tempted to go 4 as GF because of 5 LTC.

I don’t want to list responders Hand now because that may influence votes and comments. Do you use weak notrumps, 12-14 HCP, in 4th position Opener after 3 passes?

South is a passed hand but does bidding twice say anything?

The 2 response is NF bid. As North would you pass with 17 HCP or bid again?

One pair out of 38 tables found 7D. 6H made on 7 tables, 6C on 2, 6D on two and 20 S tables, mostly doubled, went down. Par was 7Sx-800. I should have bid 5S because my parter and I experience one other hand like two years in a Regional. I sure my partner would read this as s void, big hand, possible Grand Slam. 6D should have been my other choice. I should have considered my opponents. They are excellent andI knew my RHO would raise to 6S if he had anything. My 5D bid was just not thought out. However 5S would say a lot to my partner about my hand strength and possible Grand Slam interest. If RHO passes and pard bids 6D, I'll go to 7D.

Thanks. I appreciate this feedback. It looks like I should have done something else instead of my 5D? Maybe that will prove a more on point learning experience for me.

W most likely does have H so pass 2S or raise 3S/4S pick your poison. You might get lucky.

4 is strong, descriptive, and still is GF or better. Hard to believe that partner has HCPs. Let’s find out?
