I don’t think that any serious bridge player would imagine a world without BBO.. Thank you for a gift that keeps on giving!
Hopefully we’ll get to see more of you at the bridge table .. and thanks for being a great teammate in the GNT’s

Tyler.. he’s not the only one at the table. What about you preempt, the next hand passes in a flash, and your partner has a good hand, mulls it over, but decides it’s not worth bidding on. Why is everybody at the table now informed of the fact that he has a good hand. Whereas if the person in second seat had waited appropriately, then when the bid came around to your partner, he would be able to bid in tempo. And nobody would be the wiser.
I had to edit the autocorrect ….

Ditto! I would think that all the younger players would have a vested interest in helping out.

That is indeed sad news.. He was always the gentleman, a great player, and never lacking when it came to a sense of humor.

It is indeed a sad day knowing that we will not see her smiling face at tournaments. She was always a delight even when I used to torture her about paying the caddies more. She'll definitely be missed in more ways than one.

@ Steven: I have yet to see a professional open 2C on a hand like that!
I agree that South should have made a stronger effort to get past game, however, North having bid 2D at his second turn, had an easy 4D bid over 3C …

John: As long as D are not 4-0, if the SQ is onside 2,3 or 4 you can make 4S. Which is why you ruff in dummy and take a finesse. Once you have run 3 rounds of trump, you run Diamonds.

Aah, but Steve.. Just to play devil's advocate, don't flt C players sometimes pass with the hand you just gave? “After all, I did not have enough points to raise you to game, partner.”
I definitely don't condone the 6C bid, and I would have a long conversation with the pair in question.. But you do have to take into account their mindset sometimes..
